Health
I should mention that this forum is not an all inclusive directive but an attempt to keep Men’s health in the forefront of your mind. Some of us here at M3 have had bouts with various illnesses and feel it is important to keep focused on healthy eating, thinking and exercising.
This month the topic will be about Nutrition. This topic can be further studied at the website http://www.environmentalnutrition.com/ .
As we age we are no longer able to eat what we want and maintain weight by a few minutes of exercise. In Volume 29g of the Newsletter of Food, Nutrition & Health, we find some information regarding what works and what doesn’t work in boosting metabolism to lose weight.
Another article is states “Cola, but not coffee, raises blood pressure”. Good news for us coffee drinkers but not good news for us cola drinkers. The article indicates that both regular and diet cola contributed to high blood pressure. Better read this article yourself.
Also, as we age, Calcium seems to play an additional part in our health. Many of us take daily Calcium, but do we also add the important Vitamin D that helps the body to absorb Calcium. If we do take D with Calcium do we take a sufficient amount. The article states that “we may need more than current dietary recommendations.” Take a look at page 6 of the newsletter to get “EN’s Comparison of Calcium Supplements”.
Once again these articles, and others, may be found at http://www.environmentalnutrition.com/
Enjoy the read and may good health follow your activities.
