Men Mentoring Men (M3) hosts a dynamic conference on men and masculinity for men and women, students, helping professionals, and educators featuring keynote speaker Dr. Michael Kimmel speaking on “Men and Masculinity in a Changing World” and interactive workshops conducted by preeminent experts focusing on Men and Happiness, Gender Empathy, Men and Mindfulness, and Men in Relationships Friday, November 4 and Saturday November 5, 2016 in Princeton, NJ.

Headshot of Dr. Michael KimmelDr. Michael Kimmel is one of the world’s leading experts on men and masculinities. He is the SUNY Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Gender Studies at Stony Brook University. Among his many books are Manhood in America, Angry White Men,The Politics of Manhood, The Gendered Society and the best seller Guyland: The Perilous World Where Boys Become Men. With funding from the MacArthur Foundation, he founded the Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities at Stony Brook in 2013.

A tireless advocate of engaging men to support gender equality, Kimmel has lectured at more than 300 college, universities and high schools. He has delivered the International Women’s Day annual lecture at the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Council of Europe, and has worked with the Ministers for Gender Equality of Norway, Denmark and Sweden in developing programs for boys and men. He consults widely with corporations, NGOs and public sector organizations on gender equity issues.


The same four, two-hour workshops will be repeated throughout the conference.

Men and Happiness

In 2013, Dr. Adams was awarded the 2013 Practitioner of the Year Award by the Division of American Psychological Association for the Study of Men and Masculinity and is the founder of Men Mentoring Men, a not-for-profit organization providing peer coaching for men.

Men and Mindfulness

Headshot of Dr. VerniLed by Dr. Ken Verni PhD and director of the New Jersey Center for Mindful Awareness, and has given workshops for the United Nations Headquarters in NYC, Google in NYC, and the National Institute for Drug Abuse. Dr. Verni has integrated Mindfulness Interventions into his practice as a clinical psychologist.

The event will take place at the Princeton Theological Seminary, just minutes from downtown Princeton. Friday’s keynote address will be held in a state-of-the-art auditorium and an elegant reception area across the courtyard. Saturday will include coffee, tea, water and light breakfast items, followed by workshops in spacious classrooms. Lunch is on your own at any one of a number of restaurants and cafes in a Princeton.
